MSS revised standard for service-line water system
13 January 2020
The Manufacturers Standardization Society (MSS) of the Valve and Fittings Industry announces that SP-116-2019, Service-Line Valves and Fittings for Drinking Water Systems, has been revised and published by MSS.
Standard Practice (SP)-116 has served as an industry norm for over 23 years; covering requirements for most of the significant valves and fittings used in drinking water service-line systems including both buried and non-buried valves, fittings, meter setters, and service saddle clamps. This Standard Practice covers valves and fittings in sizes NPS ½ through NPS 2, for use in drinking water system service-lines between the main and the meter. SP-116 continues to be maintained under the consensus of MSS Technical Committee 112, Water Works Valves & Fittings.
The revised Standard Practice, MSS SP-116-2019, is now available from authorized U.S. and global distributors. It has been published in an electronic version (PDF) and in book format.
