Lower noise levels are attainable, say Metso.
Metso's new Q2-Trim offers significantly lower valve noise, according to Mr Ismo Niemela during a recent video interview with Valve World. He says the new trim is an excellent way of reducing valve-related noise created when plants raise pressures and/or temperatures to boost output. With the new Q2-Trim, reductions of up to 30 decibels are quite possible, he says. In fact, during field trials one client thought the flow had somehow stopped in the plant, before realising that the new Metso trim had practically stopped the noise completely.
