Market challenges
High load, constant service, spot service, corrosive environment and extreme temperatures are reasons many valve applications are switching to plastic components.
Solution
Polymer valve seats, thrust washers and bushings are replacing metal components. The Fluorosint product portfolio from Quadrant meets customer’s demand for high load and high temperature applications. The mica filled PTFE product provides extreme wear characteristics for longer life.
Benefits
The low deformation under load allows the Fluorosint products to provide solutions for clients where only metal or ceramics would perform. Supplying Fluorosint material can reduce the required actuator torque, increase life and reduce down time between repairs.
While each of these materials possesses the chemical resistance and compliance of PTFE, they all offer particular benefits that give designer clear performance advantages. The full range of Fluorosint material grades and their respective features and benefits are summarised below.
Fluorosint HPV – High performance bearings, bushings and seals where higher loads and minimal wear are required:

Fluorosint MT- 01 – Extreme service seals and wear parts at elevated temperature where strength and stability are critical:
- Excellent resistance to deformation
- Good wear resistance
- Very dimensionally stable
Fluorosint 500 - Higher pressure seals and wear parts where precision is critical:
- Outstanding dimensional stability – approximating aluminium
- Low deformation under load
Fluorosint 207 – Lower pressure seats and seals where virgin PTFE fails and food or pharmaceutical sector compliance is required:
- Very good wear resistance
- Very low coefficient of friction
