John Butterfield - 30 January 2018
To ensure that everyone has enough time to react to the Call for Papers for the Valve World Conference 2018 the deadline date has been extended to Friday, 23rd February. No further extension will be given after this date. Please also note that this is later than the original deadline date given in the Call for Papers brochure as Friday, February 2nd , 2018.
Experts in the manufacturing, specification and application of valves are invited to submit abstracts that focus on specific topics they would like to present during the conference.
The following topics - a brief selection -have been suggested by the Steering Committee: avoiding failures, valve testing & standards, end-user requirements, best practices, new technologies, etc. For a detailed description, please read the brochure for the Call for papers here.
There are two options:
host a Discussion-Based Workshop in which a panelist will give a short 10 minute Power Point to kick-start a discussion.
The other option is to present a technical paper during one of the technical paper sessions.
The conference exemplifies the importance of sharing knowledge and insights. As with many industries, there is the danger of the knowledge gap. As the baby boom generation is retiring, knowledge and – more importantly – experience needs to be transferred onto the next generation.
Events such as Valve World Conference contribute to this transfer, ensuring the manufacturing sector and its supply base will continue to thrive.
The Valve World Conference, held from the 27th until the 29th of November, will focus on a variety of topics related to valves, actuators and the flow control industry.
